Mission Statement: To cultivate a mind and heart of wisdom and compassion through the practice of yoga, and to create space for others to do the same.
500 Hour Yoga Certification
I began this journey into yoga five years ago, during a period of time in which I was seeking ways to heal and transform. Going into the practice, there was a very strong sense of coming home to myself. Learning asana and meditation gave me the tools I needed to start working with bringing my suffering into the open, understanding it, and transforming it into awareness. My first introductions to asana were yin yoga classes, which gave me an opportunity to feel more directly the connection between the state of my mind and my body. I found that I could access unconscious roots and bring them to consciousness as I moved through layers of the physical and energetic body. A year after discovering yoga I went to India, where I did a 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Svyasa (Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Sansthana) in Bangalore. This training provided a good foundation in basic yoga philosophy and sparked aspirations to learn more. I spent more time in India after the training, which allowed me to learn about yoga within the context of Indian culture, religion, and its diverse Spirituality. A year ago I finished a 2nd training, a 500 hour Teacher Training at Lila’s, a studio in Spokane, WA. This training created the space for a lot
of integration between study and experience, and really helped me to develop a deeper home practice. I would like to thank and honor my teachers along the way for all they have taught me, through their compassion, love, insight, and dedication to the path of yoga.
